Irresistible chemistry and thrilling suspense combine in this electrifying new installment in New York Times bestselling author Lynsay Sands’ Argeneau series
One hundred and twenty-five years is a long time to nurse a crush. That’s how long it’s been since Beth Argenis first met Cullen “Scotty” MacDonald, and he instantly became the star of her most X-rated dreams. Back then, he was rescuing her from a Rogue Immortal. Now Beth’s a Rogue Hunter—a damn good one. She doesn’t need saving anymore, despite what Scotty thinks. What she does need is the fierce, wild desire that finally erupts between them.
Scotty has hesitated to claim Beth as his own. But one explosive kiss confirms what he’s long suspected: She’s his life mate. But Beth is tough, fearless, beautiful…and in immortal danger. Unless he wants to lose her forever, he’ll have to rethink everything he once believed about love and destiny as well as confront an enemy who’s terrifyingly close.
Immortally Yours is already the 26th part of the Argenau series. And I (still) love every part of it. Lynsay Sands has ruined me for all other vampire (oh, I’m sorry: Immortal) authors. I fell in love with the Argenaus years ago and I’m always awaiting the next part in the series to see who gets to meet his lifemate this time.
Unlike most other stories, Beth and Scotty are both already immortal, so we don’t have to endure a change this time. We do get to meet a lot of old acquaintances and dear friends of other Argeneau stories. Donny (friend of Leigh and my all time favourite character: Lucian) is there, still as clumsy as always. And we have Sam and Mortimer, who efficiently rule the Enforcer’s house where Beth is working from. And let’s not forget Rachel and Etienne from one of the first parts of the series.
Of course we had already met Beth and her friend Drina in previous stories. So we already knew that Beth had lived a very harsh life as a prostitute in the early days. And we also knew that she has a tough exterior and doesn’t let people near her. In Immortally Yours we get to see more glimpses of her previous life and the reasons for her harshness.
We also meet Scotty, who is Beth’s lifemate. He had some doubts whether Beth is his lifemate, but one scorching kiss is enough to know for sure that she is the one. But still, Scotty hesitates to claim her as his own. Beth, on the other hand, gets confused by all the mixed signals she receives from Scotty. In order to save her heart from being broken by the one man she has been crushing on since over hundred years, she tries to get away from Scotty.
But after living over eight hundred years, Scotty isn’t going to let his lifemate walk away. However, if he doesn’t act fast, he may not have a lifemate after all. Because somebody is trying to kill Beth. So, will they get their happily ever after? Or are Scotty and Beth too stubborn to realize that the nano’s have destined them for each other?
Find out in this lovely read from Lynsay Sands. And of course I’ll be awaiting part 27: Twice Bitten, coming out in March 2018. I can’t wait!
Four out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Edelweiss and HarperCollins for providing the arc.
